SACRED CONNECTIONS...by Melvia Miller

is a sequel to her novel: "Middletown Roots."

In the same entertaining and educational manner...in this book, author Melvia Miller uses ancient wisdom, research, scientific facts, proverbs, prophecies and famous quotes to illustrate how the events of these modern 21st Century times are connected to history, to the time and to plans of from a higher source.

We are living in times of great changes.  The Earth is in transition and so is every area of our lives.  The author illustrates how events from the past have effected our present conditions.

From the days of "Bloody Sunday" --when hundreds of Black people protested the voting practices in Selma, AL (1965)...and were beaten with billy clubs by the police -- to this historic time, when a Black man is the front runner for the highest political office in the U.S.A.  --- this book gives an insightful and humorous review of the events that have led us to this historical time. THE LONG LINES AT THE POLLS ARE A SIGN THAT THE TIME HAS COME FOR MAJOR CHANGES.

PROTESTING HAS OCCURRED FOR SEVERAL CENTURIES:

...SLAVES FIGHT WHITE SUPREMACY PROPAGANDA:

The desire to enslave the darker people was the ultimate reason that racial

stereotypes and lies were promoted. And unfortunately, many of these

stereotypes still exist in the minds of modern people of the 21st Century.

The ugly stereotypes of "lazy, stupid, nit-wits" who liked being slaves, is

not supported by the true events of history.

Were the black slaves docile, lazy and content to live in that degrading position?

Or did many of them fight back?

The facts of history proves that most of the slaves were very dissatisfied with

their situation and that they did participate in rebellions, riots, and mutiny.

Fires on plantations became so prevalent that INSURANCE COMPANIES refused to insure many plantation barns, houses and property.

The African slaves were far from being lazy, docile, nit-wits. There were many slaves who engineered escapes and revolts.

SLAVE REBELLIONS:

The following is a brief list of some of the most noted slave
rebellions.

1663---The first serious slave revolt in Virginia.

1739---Major slave revolt in New York---9 whites killed.

1741—Series of suspicious fires set in NY causing
hysteria among whites…31 slaves executed.

1773---Slaves in Massachusetts petitioned the legislature
for freedom. There were a total of 8 major PETITIONS
during the Revolutionary War Period.

1791---Haitian Revolution began with revolt of slaves.

1811—The largest slave revolt in the US –New Orleans.
Troops called in to suppress the revolt.

1822—Denmark Vessey organized one of the most elaborate
slave revolts in history that involved thousands
of black slaves.

...BLACKS BUILD THEIR OWN SOCIETIES:

Contrary to the false myth that Blacks were
lazy, stupid, and less than human---Black people
became inventors, scientists, writers, entrepreneurs,
and teachers.

BLACK PEOPLE BUILT THEIR OWN TOWNS, BUSINESSES,
AND COMMERCEin many places---but White people
frequently attacked these towns and violently
killed many Black people.

Well known incidents include: Freetown
(as seen in the movie "Posse"and "Rosewood" ---
as seen in the movie by the same name.

EX-WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY Scott McClellan wrote a book which exposes the lies and scams used to get us into war in Irag.  He is not the only person who has spoken against the Bush Admin. policies!  The tradition of SLAVERY, exploitation, and oppression seems to have expanded.  Many others are concerned and upset over the plans to institute a "New World Order." --

CONSIDER THE CASE INVOLVING SENATOR OBAMA AND HIS MINISTER...

Why hasn't the News and all the pundents who have been so hard on Obama's minister...gone to Hillary, G.W. Bush's, or McCain's and other politicians' churches and made "best hits of controversial marks" on film and aired that on TV over and over and over?

Perhaps it is because of the racism that Rev. Wright pointed out in the first place.

If you have watched the news at all this week or this month, you know that one of the biggest critics and trouble-makers for Senator Obama is SEAN HANNITY of FOX NEWS.

But did you know that...  ...Sean Hannity is closely associated with NEO-NAZIS ???...one in particular named Hal Turner.

VISIT this website: WRITE-ON BOOK CLUB NEWS

HAL TURNER makes Rev. Jeremiah Wright look like a young Sunday School Teacher.

Rev. Wright was expressing much of the real anger that has been generated in the Black community as a result of Jim Crow laws, lynchings, discrimination, deprivation, and other injustices....

This book includes more pictures of the "real events"----of LIFE IN AMERICA FOR BLACK PEOPLE.

BRIEF PORTION FROM THE BOOK:

Most White people lived on one side of town and any other minority groups (e.g.--Mexicans, Africans, Puerto Ricans, etc.) were permitted to live only in certain sectors. Racial segregation was the rule of law in those days. This town became known as “Dodge City.” Middletown was a wild city in those days--filled with gamblers, gangsters, prostitution, and worse!!

Crime flourished in Middletown. Mobsters—such as Dillinger--- were known to be active or heavily invested in Middletown’s ‘red light district.’   For the most part---the Black folks in Middletown operated their own stores, barber shops, restaurants, cleaners, and other businesses. There were several African-American churches in Middletown...

This story is centered upon the life of a young black woman named Melina--- who was born in the segregated side of town--- and how racism, sexism, discrimination, and poverty effected her life.

Famous actor BILL COSBY has caused a big stir in many circles because of his criticism of behaviors and problems within the Black community. Read about the root causes and evolution of many of these problems.

While the G.W. Bush Admin. in Washington, D. C. openly spoke of "liberating Iraq"--- and bringing freedom to those people---

Millions of Americans lost their medical insurance & jobs under the G. W. Bush Administration in the past 4 years.  In the past 4 years,  African-Americans (Blacks), Hispanics and other people of color suffered from extreme drops in income.

and....simultaneously racist cartoons and jokes became more and more popular in the United States....such as this one:

Excerpt

PORTION OF THE INTRODUCTION:

In 1924 and 1925 studies were conducted in the small industrial city that later became well-known as “Middletown USA.” This was one of the first scholarly works to attempt to describe the culture and social environment of a typical American city.

Helen and Robert Lynd published 2 books, based on these studies, titled: “Middletown” (1929) and “Middletown in Transition” (1937).

Those authors described Middletown as a “good specimen of American culture…”

Middletown is a small city in eastern Indiana on the White River, 54 miles northeast of Indianapolis, IN. They described the Teacher’s College as one that would grow into a major University.

Forty years later, another group of scholars went back to Middletown and repeated additional studies. They wrote a book titled: Middletown Families (1982).

However, little mention is given to the conditions or life-style of the African-American citizens who live in Middletown.

THIS BOOK IS WRITTEN FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF BLACK PEOPLE WHO LIVED IN MIDDLETOWN, IN.
